Afghan Actor Baktash in "Firedancer"

Autobiographical story that moves back and forth between the escape of a young boy from a beleaguered Afghan village and New York where, as an adult and an artist, the boy ends up making his home. FireDancer became the first Afghan film in history to be considered by the Academy for an Oscar nomination and to be selected for the Tribeca Film Festival.
