Mr. Barsanian also explains how this affects the majority Pashtoon population surrounding the line on both sides and it's importance to them. -------------------------- Short history: Durand Line Treaty was a treaty between the Afghan government and the British in India in which the British deliberately drew a line to divide the PASHTOONS who dared to resist the British and push them back several times. The Pashtoons on both sides and the King himself Amanullah Khan at the time never recognized this line and they still travel freely to both sides. The treaty was presented in 3 languages, PASHTO, DARI and ENGLISH out of which only the ENGLISH version was signed, a language not known by the king AMANULLAH KHAN. ------------------ WIKI : The Durand Line (Pashto: د ډیورنډ توره کرښه) refers to the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which is poorly marked and approximately 2640 kilometers (1610 miles) long. It was established after the 1893 Durand Line Agreement between the Government of colonial British India and Afghan Amir Abdur Rahman Khan for fixing the limit of their respective spheres of influence.
